Borrowing Procedures and Other Information

  • RESERVING BOOKS

    Students may reserve books at any time by logging into our library catalog. Books will not be checked out until previous loans are returned. Click here to reserve a book!

    BORROWING PRIVILEGES

    BOOKS: 4 weeks

    Each student will be limited to one book for checkout until they have established responsible checkout and return behavior. 

    MAGAZINES: For Library use only (NO MAGAZINES ON DISPLAY AT THIS TIME). Magazines are for Library use only. Students may view these materials during the school day or after school. In some instances, permission may be granted to use materials outside of the Library Media Center for a class period. 

    REFERENCE MATERIALS: For Library use only. Reference and non-reference book sets are for Library use only. Students may use these materials during the school day or after school. In some instances, permission may be granted to use materials outside of the Library Media Center for a class period. 

    INTER LIBRARY LOAN (ILL): See Library staff. If there is a book that isn't currently in the Library Media Center collection, requests can be made to other schools or local public libraries. Please see the Library staff to make these requests and every attempt will be made to fill requests. 

    OVERDUE BOOKS & CONSEQUENCES

    Please try to return or renew all library materials by the due date. Returned books can be put into the book drop located outside of the main entrance to the Library Media Center.

    At the beginning of each week, English teachers are given a list of their students will overdue materials. Please make every attempt to return your materials or renew them by the end of the week.

    Those students who have materials that are 4 weeks overdue will automatically receive a detention notice from the Library Media Center. These students are expected to return or renew their materials within two (2) days of receiving their notice or they will be expected to stay for detention on the date listed on the notice. Leisure use of the Library Media Center is restricted during this time.  

    Any student who ignores the detention and does not make alternative arrangements will be referred to their principal.
